Manal Amin is the founder and CEO of Arabize. She was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and was raised in Egypt. After graduating from university with a BA in Political Science, she lived and worked in Egypt, the Gulf region, and Europe for a period of eight years. It is inherent in her nature to take a proactive role in society and she is an active member of a number of associations and organizations.
Manal's passion for the Arabic language and its related culture was nurtured in childhood. Growing up surrounded by millennia of history and distinctly Arab ways of life she developed a great awareness of and appreciation for all aspects of the Arab world. After completing an advanced level Translation Diploma at the American University in Cairo (AUC) in the mid-nineties, she decided to combine her lifelong passion with her professional expertise and so founded Arabize.
It is a common misconception that the process of “localization” is nothing more than that of translation. Since the beginning it has been Manal’s vocation to correct this error and awaken awareness about the importance of localization. She has trained her staff in order to give them the tools they need to do the job, and has developed working standards and criteria that encourage successful growth.
Her dedication and experience has taught her that to do any job well all aspects of that task must be done the right way. It is that simple logic which enables and informs her pursuit of excellence.
When asked to describe her professional mindset she quotes Winston Churchill’s words: "I am easily satisfied with the very best." |
